Repeal It!
Today, Americans across the country are angry that the U.S. House of Representatives has ignored their voices, and I share that anger. At a time when we are running a $1.6 trillion deficit, Jim Moran and House Democrats have given us a huge new entitlement program that we can’t afford. They have saddled businesses and individuals with new taxes and mandates that we can’t afford and will take as many as 16,500 new IRS auditors to enforce. And they have transferred far too much control over our health care system from doctors and patients to the federal government.
Americans are also frustrated by the process that led us to this point. For example, lawmakers were given only three days to review the text of a bill that will restructure approximately one-sixth of the U.S. economy.
Now, however, is not the time to become discouraged. Rather, it is the time to channel our anger and frustration into action. We must redouble our efforts to defeat those representatives, such as Jim Moran, who voted in favor of Obamacare. And we must work to replace them with candidates who will vote to repeal it.
Here in Virginia’s Eighth District, I am the only candidate to date who has signed the Club for Growth’s Repeal It! pledge. By signing this pledge, I have promised to sponsor and support legislation to repeal the Democrats’ health-care bill and to replace it with genuine market-based reform, and you have my solemn commitment that I will do just that.
House Democrats are betting that the American people will forget about yesterday’s vote come November and will instead focus their attention on other concerns. But this issue if far too important for us to let it slip into the background, and I assure you that I will do everything in my power to prevent that from happening.
