Jim Moran Wants A Pay Raise
On Tuesday, the U.S. House of Representatives voted on a bipartisan basis, 402-15, to block a scheduled congressional pay raise. Unfortunately, Jim Moran was one of only 15 Congressmen to vote in favor of raising his own pay.
With the federal government running a $1.5 trillion budget deficit and millions of Americans having lost their jobs during the recession, our elected representatives need to set an example by tightening their own belts rather than asking for raises paid for with our tax dollars. Jim Moran’s vote in favor of raising his own pay is yet another indication that he has been in office far too long. Instead of representing the people of Virginia’s 8th District, Jim Moran’s main focus now is on representing Jim Moran.
