Summing up, the candidate said, “You should vote for Matthew Berry if you want to see spending and the deficit brought under control, if you want to see the American people protected from terrorism, and if you want to see individuals empowered to make decisions about their own lives rather than have government make decisions for them.”

Well, obviously, whoever the nominee is will be outspent by Jim Moran, but it is clear that Matthew Berry is in the lead. This is especially good news for Matthew Berry, as the 2008 GOP candidate, Mark Ellmore reported $59,386 in total receipts. Having more money now that the 2008 nominee had throughout the entire election is HUGE news. It shows a new sense of excitement, and that with the right candidate and message, we can even give Jim Moran a competitive race.

Over at Old Dominion Watchdog, Paige Winfield is reporting that long-time Northern Virginia Dem representative Jim Moran may become the poster boy for the kind of lawmaker Americans are getting fed up with. Several weeks ago, I introduced the Conservative blogosphere to Matthew Berry, a Conservative Republican who is seeking the Republican nomination, to challenge Congressman Jim Moran (D – Virginia’s eighth congressional district) in the general election next November. Well, with the campaign up and running, Berry has released an interesting study about Moran receiving 80,000 dollars from companies or individuals associated with companies that have received pork barrel funding, due to Moran’s efforts in Congress.

I would like to thank Republican challenger Matthew Berry for answering some questions about his views and how he feels about current incumbent Jim Moran in the 8th Congressional District in Virginia. Mr. Berry was very quick in returning the answers to my list of questions, and I believe would be a great fit in Congress.
